Museum of Nebraska History
The Museum of Nebraska History has a nice site with a section devoted to some great quilts as well as Singer sewing machines from their exhibit in 2000. Here is their link:

Each of their quilt pictures can be clicked for a closer view of their quilts.
Some of my favorites are:
Love Apple by Catherine Eby Miller of Indiana, made in 1855:
It's just such a classic quilt with great colors. They have two clickable pictures so you can really see the quilting.
Another quilt, Wreath of Roses, is also striking and its pop-up allows you to see clearly its quilting and colors.
The other quilt I wanted to show was the Flower Basket Petit Point by Grace McCance Snyder of Nebraska who made her quilt in 1942-43.
There's a great story to the quilt but what stood out to me was her attention to detail. 85,789 pieces and 5,400 yards of thread! Can you imagine!
This quilt was selected as one of the twentieth century's one hundred best American quilts. The close-up picture lets you appreciate her dedication and artistry.
The Museum had another exhibit in 2006 called "Patchwork Lives" which include a small selection of different quilts and their stories. The location for this exhibit is:

I hope you visit their site.
Best,
Fiona
